Texas recently added new restrictions to certain types of Hemp-derived Cannabis products, leading to many popular items being taken from store shelves. So what does this mean for consumers who rely Hemp or enjoy it recreationally? Let’s take a closer look at the changes and how they effect product availability for Hemp retailers in Texas, including Modern CBD & Wellness.
Most of the new rules are targeted at producers and sellers, such as testing and packaging rules, as well as requiring ID to verify every sale is only to those 21 and older, but there are some changes for consumers too. Most notably, the especially popular cannabinoid THCA is now counted toward total Delta-9-THC concentration when calculating the contents of a given product, meaning THCA Flower is no longer available.
Most other options remain available to consumers, such as Gummies, Tinctures, and Drinks. Here are some great options to try if you’re looking for a new way to enjoy Legal Cannabis with the new regulations:
Much like Edibles and Tinctures, most Topical Hemp products remain unaffected, as they too were already required to have 0.3% Delta 9 THC or less by dry weight. However, topicals which used THCA as a component are affected by the new rules. Check out our store to shop a selection of Legal Hemp Topicals.
In short, while some products are leaving Texas for now, we are still able to offer many of the options enjoyed by Hemp consumers, and will continue to search far and wide to serve our community with only the best, legal Cannabis alternatives.
